Built for running

Four things a kerb can't do.

Built for running

Four things a kerb can't do.

The angle a kerb can't give you

A step edge puts your heel in mid-air and your ankle at whatever angle the concrete happens to be. This holds the whole foot at a set angle, so the stretch goes where you intend it.

Four angles, 30° to 45°

Start shallow and work deeper as the calf loosens. The same board covers your first week and your hundredth.

Both feet, full weight

Solid wood with a platform wide enough to stand on with both feet. Nothing flexes, nothing tips, no hand on the wall.

Questions before you buy

The things runners actually ask us

Everything below is about this board specifically — what it's for, how to use it, and what to do if it isn't right for you.

1. Why not just use a kerb or a step? +

A step edge leaves your heel hanging in mid-air and your ankle at whatever angle the concrete happens to be. The board holds the whole foot flat at a set angle, so the stretch lands where you want it and you can repeat it exactly.

2. How do I change the angle? +

Lift the platform and move the support to one of the four positions. It takes a couple of seconds, no tools.

3. Which angle should I start with? +

Start at 30° and hold it comfortably before going further. If you're shaking or clenching your toes to stay on, the angle is too steep for now.

4. Will it hold me? +

It's solid wood with a platform wide enough for both feet, and it doesn't flex or tip under full weight. One person at a time.

5. When should I use it? +

After a run rather than before — a static calf stretch on cold muscles does less than it does on warm ones. A couple of minutes a few times a week is plenty.

6. What if it isn't for me? +

Send it back within 30 days and we'll cover the return shipping.
